3 of the most established players in the cross-border express services have introduced new coaches into their stable of luxurious buses. These new coaches have been in service since early December 2009.
Five Stars Tours
Five Stars Tours recently launched its first coach assembled by sksbus Coachbuilders. The e128d high-decker coach was built on the Nissan UDJA452S and seats 27 passengers, all on the upper deck. As per standard Malaysian regulations, there must be no seats on the lower deck of a bus with two axles. There are plans to introduce as many as 15 of these coaches.
Fresh from the assembly line are two of Transtar Express’ latest coaches – Classic and Premium. The Classic coach has been featured earlier on the Travel Malaysia Fair 2009 last October. It is now serving the daily Singapore – Kuala Lumpur route. Two more Classic coaches can be expected soon. Transtar Express also launched its latest single-deck coach, the Lionstar Premium. Intercoach Coachbuilders was contracted to assemble the coach, which was spotted operating on the 7.30am Singapore – Kuala Lumpur route. Watch this space soon as Jom Naik Bas! posts a review on the new Transtar Classic service.

These Scania K380IB coaches were assembled by Bee Hing Coachworks. Odyssey is expecting to announce a major expansion into Singapore in early 2010. Jom Naik Bas! will be posting a review on their service, so stay tuned.
