As reported on Jom Naik Bas! late last month, Pancaran Matahari (Malaysia) Sendirian Berhad (PMMSB), has launched its latest route from Kedah to Melaka Sentral. The daily service sees a rotation of deployment of its 4 newest double-deckers on the route – KCQ8188, KCQ8288, KCQ8388 (white) and KCQ8588.
PMMSB has selected the latest model by Scania Malaysia, the K380IB, for their double-decks. Built on the popular e128d Twindex bodywork by sksbus Coachbuilders, these double-deckers can seat as many as 38 passengers in the executive ’2+1′ seating configuration. The cabin is equipped with four LCD screens on both decks, and the lower deck comes with a microwave oven unit as well. The plush seats are procured from Damrong and are fitted with seat-belts as an added safety feature.
The latest service operates between Jitra in Kedah and Melaka. Several stops will be made along the journey, at Changlun, Alor Setar, Kuala Lumpur, Kajang and Seremban. However, the return northbound trip will only terminate at Kuala Lumpur. This is due to the ticketing counter at Melaka Sentral, which is yet to be ready for operations. For the time being, passengers may purchase tickets at the AB Express or Transtar Express counters at Melaka Sentral. Departure timings may vary from day to day so it’s best to check with the ticketing counters.
