What is “Jom Naik Bas!”?
First and foremost, welcome to Jom Naik Bas!
“Jom Naik Bas!” is a bus infoblog, launched in October 2008. Conceptualized months prior to the launch, “Jom Naik Bas!” focuses on the public bus transportation in Singapore, as well as the cross-border/interstate bus express services in Singapore and Malaysia. Apart from topics covering descriptions on public buses in Singapore, “Jom Naik Bas!” also regularly features reviews on the various coach operators. “Jom Naik Bas!” recently included a page compiling the very latest in interstate services in both Singapore and Malaysia.
As a not-for-profit blog, “Jom Naik Bas!” is also keen to work with the coach operators to help promote and keeping the commuters abreast with any updates or developments affecting their services. “Jom Naik Bas!” aims to be a one-stop platform for commuters to seek information and also for the coach operators to keep in touch with the passengers.
Who is the owner?
“Jom Naik Bas!” is owned, and written exclusively by Ishak, a 26-year-old civil servant who currently resides in Singapore. What started out as just a simple hobby, has now turned into a passion for him to share with the rest of the world. He is an active member of the Singapore-based BusInfoHub (BIH) enthusiasts group, as well as the Malaysian-based Malaysian Bus and Truck Enthusiast (MBTE) group. He also enjoys socializing outside his circle of bus enthusiasts and cooking. Aviation and railway have also been a part of his hobby since young.
The Future of “Jom Naik Bas!”
Moving forward, “Jom Naik Bas!” will eventually be turned into a full-fledged website. Our frequent non-English speaking readers in Malaysia will be pleased to know that the Malay-version of “Jom Naik Bas!” is in the cards. Reviews of domestic interstate bus express services in Malaysia will also be included on “Jom Naik Bas!”, to reach out to more readers who are keen to know more on the services. Trip reports and reviews on bus services in Thailand and Indonesia are also planned on “Jom Naik Bas!”. Last but not least, “Jom Naik Bas!” will also cover more services from Singapore and do look out for reviews on inflight and railway services.
